Portugal has once again distinguished itself on the international higher education stage, with five national institutions included in the Financial Times Masters in Management 2026 ranking, one of the world's most prestigious assessments of management master's programmes. This strong representation reinforces Portugal's growing international profile as a destination of excellence for advanced education and talent development.
Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE) achieved 2nd place worldwide, the highest ranking ever attained by a Portuguese institution in this classification. The school now stands alongside some of the world's leading business schools, performing particularly well in areas such as employability, internationalisation and alumni satisfaction.
Alongside Nova SBE, Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics ranked 25th globally, while ISEG entered the ranking for the first time in 59th position. Iscte Business School placed 62nd and Católica Porto Business School ranked 66th worldwide.
These results reflect the competitiveness of Portuguese management programmes among the 100 institutions evaluated by the Financial Times. The ranking considers a range of indicators, including career and salary progression, employability, internationalisation, diversity and sustainability.
Portugal's strong presence in this year's ranking highlights the ability of its institutions to attract international students, develop highly qualified professionals and meet the demands of an increasingly global labour market. The results also reinforce Portugal's international standing as a hub for knowledge, talent and innovation.
