Portuguese company Aralab, which specialises in developing climate control and testing solutions for scientific and industrial applications, has acquired 100% of UK-based Alphatech.
The deal gives Aralab a direct presence in the UK, one of the world’s largest markets for climate chambers, and forms part of the company’s international expansion strategy. Aralab expects to reach €25 million in revenue by the end of 2026.
According to Luís Branco, Aralab’s CEO, the acquisition strengthens the company’s proximity to customers, local responsiveness and ability to develop new business opportunities in a major market for environmental control and climate testing solutions.
The integration of Alphatech will also enable Aralab to leverage the British company’s local expertise and strengthen its after-sales service and technical support capabilities.
The acquisition follows other international expansion moves. In March 2026, Aralab, together with German company Memmert, acquired a 51% stake in Newtronic, an Indian manufacturer of environmental testing equipment and laboratory solutions with more than 45 years of experience.
Aralab and Memmert have been collaborating in the Chinese market since 2024 and in the United States since 2025. The acquisition of Newtronic further strengthens their presence in Asian markets, particularly India, one of the fastest-growing hubs for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and research sectors.
