China is willing to work with the European Union to bring greater stability and positive momentum to economic and trade relations, Vice Premier He Lifeng told French diplomat Emmanuel Bonne during a meeting in Beijing on Tuesday, according to state news agency Xinhua.
The meeting followed an agreement reached last week between China and the EU that could more than halve Chinese hybrid car exports to the bloc. Beijing said the deal would allow exports to continue growing, following intensive consultations between the two sides.
He said China–EU relations had significant potential for further growth and expressed Beijing’s readiness to strengthen economic cooperation with France, based on agreements reached by both countries’ leaders and the principle of mutual benefit.
