The Royal Treasury Museum, located at the Ajuda National Palace in Lisbon, has been awarded the Museum of the Year 2026 title at the first edition of the Portuguese Business Awards, organised by EU Business News.
The award recognises the work carried out since the museum opened, making the Treasury of the Portuguese Crown permanently accessible to the public after remaining inaccessible for more than a century.
Alongside its permanent exhibition, the museum offers a regular programme of temporary exhibitions, conferences and educational activities for families, schools and the wider public, playing an active role in promoting Portugal’s cultural heritage.
Managed by the Lisbon Tourism Association, the Royal Treasury Museum houses royal jewels, regalia and goldsmithing pieces spanning several centuries of Portuguese history.
The museum is open daily from 10am to 7pm, with last admission at 6pm.
