The EBRD aims to achieve impact in multiple ways, but with one overarching goal in mind – supporting its countries of operation in their ambition to become market-oriented economies that enable private-sector growth for the benefit of all. Our Impact Report, now in its second year, shows how we are delivering this impact across our 40 countries of operation.
The Bank deployed and mobilised record volumes of finance in 2025 to deliver transition impact across its regions. Its own investments hit an all-time high of €16.8 billion across 640 projects, and its total finance mobilised reached a record-equalling €26.8 billion, indicating that EBRD economies are creating attractive environments for outside investment. Mobilisation multiplies the impact of the Bank’s work and is critical to meeting the development needs of emerging markets.
Donor support also remains crucial to the EBRD’s work; it rose to €1.9 billion last year from €1.6 billion in 2024, making a significant contribution to around two-thirds of EBRD investments. The European Union was the EBRD’s most significant donor, providing 55 per cent of all funding in 2025.
