Greenvolt Next, a Greenvolt Group company specialising in renewable energy solutions for the commercial and industrial sectors, has announced that it will collaborate with Cork Airport on the development of Ireland’s largest solar car park.
The project, due for completion in August 2027, has received financial support from Ireland’s Departments of Transport and Climate, Environment and Energy. It will have a capacity of 1.7 MW and will be implemented in two phases, with the first phase due to be completed in the first half of this year and the second phase starting in September. In total, the 3,696 panels to be installed are expected to generate 1.5 GWh annually.
The project will generate over 1.5 GWh of renewable energy per year, equivalent to 20% of the airport’s electricity requirements.
