Microsoft opened its Portuguese subsidiary back in 1990 and, more than three decades later, continues to value the country's qualified talent above all else.  

Its Lisbon site currently employs more than 1,400 highly skilled professionals in different fields, from business development and software engineering to sales, marketing, business operations, technical support, customer service and Artificial Intelligence. 

Ryan O’Connor, responsible for Microsoft’s Engineering and Support Centre in Portugal, says the country has increasingly become a prominent place for companies “for a multitude of reasons” – its quality of life, safety, climate, culture, talent and business-friendly environment being just a few. 

As its presence in Portugal continues to grow, Microsoft wants to help organisations innovate and create new opportunities through digital transformation.
