Overall, the group closed the year with 16,333 million euros in turnover and 359 million euros in profits, according to a report by ECO.
“The highlight of the year was the growth of all retail areas, especially in the fashion and beauty, and food and restaurant departments”, highlights the Spanish retailer, in a statement, about the evolution of the business in the national market.
In Portugal, the chain, which has two warehouses in Lisbon and Porto, closed last year's fiscal year in February with 599 million euros in revenue, an increase of 5% compared to the previous year. The operation in the Portuguese market reached an EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation) of 59.6 million, 16% more than in the previous year, having recorded profits of 36 million euros, an increase compared to 19.5 million last year, thus far the group's best results in the country where it has been present for more than two decades.
