Luís Barroso, President of MOBI.E, explains: "Interoperability was guaranteed from the outset in all the charging stations. It has also been possible to create an information system that provides real-time information on the availability of a socket, its location, power and tariff, which is crucial for user confidence". The company's priority, he says, is to provide the best user experience.
Mobi.E's public network has grown and its success is reflected in the figures: more than 3.7 million charges by 2023, more than 4,450 publicly accessible charging stations, 55,000 fewer tonnes of CO2 emitted and 20.5 million fewer litres of diesel consumed. Last year alone.
Real-time access to information and total interoperability are the pillars of success for the Mobi.E charging network. "This is where the opportunities lie," says Luís Barroso. "MOBI.E will be able to help European countries achieve real-time information accessibility solutions more quickly to meet the requirements of the European regulation, while at the same time making the internationalisation of the operations of companies already operating in Portugal more competitive."
The company also aims to help countries that are just starting to look for solutions, such as the Latin American markets. According to MOBI.E's president, this will help to "affirm Portugal's name in a field as important for the world as the decarbonisation of mobility".
To this end, MOBI.E has contacted various organisations in Spain and the Latin American market. "So far, we have managed to sign a contract with the VATIA group in Colombia, but I'm sure that our efforts will soon lead to new developments," said Luís Barroso.
