Greek technology facilitator Endeavor Greece has launched Innovation Nation, the first national campaign dedicated to positioning Greece as a thriving innovation hub.
Βacked by five government ministries – Culture, Development, Digital Governance, Foreign Affairs and Tourism – along with Greece’s leading investment promotion organizations, the campaign highlights Greece’s growing prominence in the world of technology and business. With over 2 million people already reached through online and offline channels, including social media, metro stations and airports, the campaign is shaping Greece’s future as a global leader in innovation.
Over the past several years, Greece has been steadily attracting and fostering investment in its technology sector: from startups to data centers, from R&D hubs to technology incubators. And it is increasingly developing into a regional technology hub for Southeast Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean. Recently, the Greek cabinet approved legislation to provide a super tax deduction on certain categories of research investments of up 315%. And earlier this month, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced a new class of Golden Visa: for those investing €250,000 in a Greek tech startup.
At the heart of the Innovation Nation initiative lies a wealth of resources for investors, entrepreneurs and talent. The platform provides information on investment opportunities, relocation guidance, and how to establish a business in Greece. It serves as a hub for up-to-date insights on Greece’s fast-growing tech scene, featuring coverage from leading international media, a monthly newsletter and a calendar of upcoming events such as tech conferences, networking opportunities, and industry workshops.
Apart from the five ministries, the platform is also being supported by Enterprise Greece, Marketing Greece, Athens International Airport, This is Athens and the law firm Zepos & Yannopoulos.
