The Chairman of AICEP, Ricardo Arroja, attended the Portugal Air Summit in Ponte de Sor, a reference event in the aerospace and defense sector in Portugal.
"Portugal has a dynamic aerospace industry, supported by a highly qualified workforce and a consistent commitment to innovation," said the official.
"The aerospace sector in Portugal has a strong industrial base with high-quality suppliers and is export-oriented, giving it unique capabilities throughout the value chain," he added.
The skilled human resources in the aerospace industry have attracted foreign investment from various regions, which has been accompanied by national investment and reinvestment.
Several multinationals have invested in Portugal in recent years, such as Aernnova, Lauak, Mecachrome, and Airbus Atlantic.
At the same time, the sector is present in 94 countries, with the quality of national production increasing at an international level.
In Portugal, manufacturers are involved in the design and production phases of launchers, aircraft, satellites, components, and maintenance. In addition, the country actively participates in international programs such as the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
