Portugal launches Europe’s first VLEO military satellite - Three Portuguese companies are to develop Europe’s first very low Earth orbit military satellite

The European Defence Agency (EDA) has signed a €15.65 million research contract with an industrial consortium for the development of the first European military very low Earth orbit satellite. Portugal is one of five European countries that will fund the VLEO-DEF project, a consortium involving the Portuguese companies Geosat, Omnidea and INEGI.
