Jamaica is continuing its program of improving the resiliency of its electricity grid and expanding renewable generation in its system. The Jamaican government’s Generation Procurement Entity (GPE) invites you to attend an information session (in person or online) on 19 March 2026. The session will provide a briefing for prospective participants in the 220 MW Renewable Energy and 110 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. This will include both technical and process information.
GPE invites prospective investors, developers, lenders, EPC contractors, consultants, and others to attend the official launch of its Request for Information (RFI) Session.
During the session, participants will receive:
- an overview of the 220 MW renewable/110 MW BESS procurement framework,
- technical and grid context,
- information on the commercial and procurement approach, and
- Information about the stakeholder engagement process
