TAP has announced the creation of a new maintenance and engineering hub at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, in Porto, representing an investment of approximately €20 million and the creation of nearly 200 jobs. The announcement was made in the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure, Miguel Pinto Luz, and the Mayor of Porto, Pedro Duarte, highlighting the strategic importance of the project for the region.
Scheduled to be built over the next two years, the new facility will have the capacity to accommodate two Airbus A321 aircraft or similar models. TAP’s Chief Executive Officer, Luís Rodrigues, described the hub as a fundamental asset for the airline, noting that Porto Airport handled 17 million passengers in 2025 and offers ideal conditions to host such an operation.
