BrightGroup, a Portuguese technology company and member of Porto Tech Hub, has introduced a groundbreaking platform designed to bring empathy into digital business communication. Founded in 2024 by Tiago Coelho, Jorge Teixeira and Luís Silva, the company combines artificial intelligence with emotional intelligence to redefine how brands engage with customers online.
The platform creates AI-powered virtual avatars that represent different business sectors while displaying recognisably human traits. These avatars can interpret users’ emotions, adapt their tone of voice, language, and even express feelings through facial gestures such as smiles or hesitation.
BrightGroup operates on a B2B2C model, selling its platform to specialised business units that interact directly with consumers. These include BrightPlay for gaming and gambling, BrightStore for e-commerce, and Bright FS for banking and financial services — all powered by the group’s technological core, BrightFactory. This structure allows for sector-specific solutions with a focus on scalability, agility, and deep industry expertise. The project combines business strategy, social responsibility, and advanced R&D as its key pillars.
