In May, LIPOR and its Associated Municipalities invite the community to discover the B Side — the side of Biodiversity — the one that lives in unlikely habitats and in LIPOR’s transformed areas.
With a refreshed image, LIPOR’s B Side reinforces a commitment that is stronger than ever. The B Side of LIPOR: the side that promotes, protects, and celebrates biodiversity. May is here, and with it, the Biodiversity Month. Let's celebrate it with activities designed for our communities that share the LIPOR lifestyle.

Biodiversity Month is an integral part of LIPOR’s strategy for Sustainability and Climate Action, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, promoting resilient communities, urban green areas, and a renewed relationship with the surroundings. That’s why we celebrate Biodiversity Month by promoting a range of activities for the community, aimed at raising awareness and encouraging the protection and promotion of nature.

Throughout the month, LIPOR will host a variety of activities and awareness campaigns that show biodiversity is not just a global cause — it’s a reality that depends on each of us.

LIPOR Highlights for Biodiversity Month 2025:
*   Birdwatching at the Adventure Park – May 3rd, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
*   Butterflies by Moonlight — A Family Night Adventure! – At LIPOR’s Adventure Park and Ecological Trail, May 3rd, from 9:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
*   River Tinto Clean-up Action – At LIPOR’s Adventure Park and Ecological Trail, May 4th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
*   Bioblitz at the Corim House Lake – At Casa do Corim, May 10th, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
*   Talk: “Biodiversity in Urban Green Areas” with Paulo Farinha Marques – at Casa do Corim, May 10, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
*   Pollinators Workshop – At LIPOR’s Adventure Park and Ecological Trail, May 24th.
