Gigi Hadid has been shining in Portuguese footwear. The international model appeared in public wearing boots by the Portuguese brand Alameda Turquesa.
Her look became a highlight in some of the world's leading fashion publications, including Vogue, Marie Claire, and Who What Wear.
Vogue noted that "if there is one thing Gigi Hadid proves this week, it is that piling on cosy layers can still result in an elegant look. The key, it seems, lies entirely in how the outfit is put together." The magazine also highlighted that the model "completed the look with shearling boots from Alameda Turquesa".
"We are just a small Portuguese family brand working from a tiny family atelier in Coimbra. This is surreal," the brand said.
This is not the first time prominent international public figures have chosen the Portuguese label. More recently, Cindy Crawford appeared in public wearing the brand's golden Nefertiti sandal. Gigi Hadid herself had previously been photographed in boots from the brand. In 2017, Alameda Turquesa launched a capsule collection with Chiara Ferragni, and in 2015, Anna Dello Russo featured the brand in Vogue Japan. The international recognition goes even further: Sofia Vergara has showcased the brand on her social media, and Dua Lipa, Bella Hadid and Juliana Paes are also among Alameda Turquesa's clients.
Founded in 2012 by Ana, the mother of Carolina, Alameda Turquesa began as a social media experiment and rapidly gained scale. Handmade in Portugal, the creations of this young label celebrate and preserve traditional Portuguese craftsmanship.
