The headquarters of Biopolis have been officially opened at the Vairão campus of the University of Porto, further details of which can be found in a press release.
The project, on which the universities of Porto and Montpellier have worked together alongside the Porto Business School, is being financially supported by the European Commission.
Biopolis is the largest Portuguese project in the field of environmental biology, ecosystems and biodiversity, according to its website. It goes on to state that the project will transform CIBIO, the University of Porto’s biodiversity research center, “into an international superstructure linking scientific research with civil society and the business sector to address the emerging global challenges”.
