Portuguese manufacturer Coelima is in New York market with a message about value, quality and service.
“We still believe that ‘made in Portugal’ adds value and offers some great opportunities to our current and prospective customers with our continued sustainable and innovation lines,” said Paulo Almeida, director of sales and business development for the Coelima by Mabera company.
At the New York Home Fashions Market, the company is introducing its Decadent Comfort collection for the fall/winter 2025/2026 season. Coelima is presenting 3 conceptual themes:
Harmonious Retro – The all-flannel theme focuses on the company’s high-quality Portuguese flannels. A combination of prints and yarn-dyes nods to retro looks in browns and blues.
Romantic Decadence – Cotton sateen constructions are being presented with atemporal romantic prints mixed with fine jacquards in reds, greens and burgundies. “The ultimate luxury bed,” said Isa Rodrigues, who leads design, development and quality assurance.
Beauty and Fragility – Built around the lightness of the color blue, this theme encompasses a mix of yarn dyes with checks and stripes. Linen and cotton are the main constructions.
In addition to expanding its U.S. reach, Coelima by Mabera has been leveraging e-commerce to widen distribution.
“During the last six months, we have been developing our online business at www.coelimastore.pt with great results, selling to Portugal, Spain, France, and Italy,” said Rodrigues. “We believe this is a sales channel that will expand well during the next two years.”
The company is showing during the New York Home Fashions Market through Sept. 19 at the Adnaz Hotel. 485 5th Ave. (at E. 41st).
