In a statement the company explains that this is not just a “personal victory”, but also “a milestone for Portugal and for global baking”.
“Throughout her career, Elisabete has inspired new generations, especially women, to follow their dreams and raise the standards of the baking industry with dedication and professionalism,” it said.
At 46 years old, the distinction, awarded by the International Union of Bakery and Pastry (UIBC), comes due to her contribution to the industry and the “preservation of traditional processes and techniques”.
