Biocant Park in Cantanhede is home to 48 companies working in different areas of biotechnology, employing around 600 people. From advanced technological services in the health sector to promoting the discovery of new drugs, the park has attracted international companies and become a globally competitive research and innovation centre.
Since its creation in 2005, Biocant Park has been dedicated to supporting business initiatives for the economic valorisation of knowledge in the life sciences. It mainly hosts companies and projects related to so-called red biotechnology, which involves applying scientific and technological advances to solve medical problems and improve human health.
Over the years, the park has grown and is now home to a diverse ecosystem of 48 companies from different areas of biotechnology. As well as start-ups, it is home to more mature projects and even industrial-scale companies. In addition to national companies, it has attracted international companies, making it a globally competitive space.
