The Algarve has was once again been recognised as the Best Beach Destination in the World at the World Travel Awards, achieving this distinction for the third time.
The award was presented on the evening of Sunday, November 24th, in a ceremony that took place in Madeira.
The Algarve was chosen as the favourite region from a list of 23 nominees that included several globally iconic beach destinations such as the Maldives, Cancún (Mexico), Seychelles, Philippines and Zanzibar, among others.
Considered the “Oscars of Tourism”, the awards highlight the best examples in the tourism and travel industry, in different categories, through voting by the main leaders in the sector from around the world.
