Athletes want lean, protein-rich foods like fish. Sustainably sourcing this protein is challenging, however. Now the Portuguese company 100 Mistérios has launched new line of high-protein tinned fish product under the brand name ProTin. The official debut took place at the Fitness World Conference at the end of June in Lisbon.
Recalling the traditions of craftsmanship in the Portuguese canned fish industry, ProTin is sustainably sourced from fish and peas. Protein accounts for 17 percent of the product, which is 100-percent natural and contains no added sugar.
ProTin products are now available for shipment to several countries, including Portugal, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, and Sweden.
“With ProTin, we want to introduce a delicious alternative to the usual water-packed tuna commonly found in fitness diets, which often lacks flavor and excitement,” said Jose Sales Manager Vasco Motta. “Our goal is to make consuming protein enjoyable, while also providing products rich in Omega-3, calcium, and other essential nutrients. We aim to inspire people to enjoy their daily protein intake with great taste and nutrition.”
The company offers a suite of product brands, including Maria Organic, ATI Manel, and ABC+ canned fish offering products like red mullet in lemon and thyme and cuttlefish Algarve style sauce, and spiced mussels in pickled sauce.
100 Mistérios is headquartered in Porto, with production facilities in Matosinhos.
