A leader in the agri-food sector, Sovena is present in 12 countries and exports to more than 70 markets, particularly Brazil, the USA and Colombia. The olive oil sector has been a focus since the 1980s and the company has invested in sustainable growth that combines innovation, health and respect for the environment. Founded in the 1950s by Alfredo da Silva, Sovena is now a benchmark in the agri-food sector. In the 1980s, the legacy was continued by his heirs who, with the acquisition of Alco, expanded Sovena's activities into the olive oil sector. The group became international and global. Sovena's international position was consolidated in the 1990s through strategic acquisitions in markets such as Spain, the United States and Brazil. Always forward-looking, the company invested in emerging markets, entering Chile in 2020 and establishing Sovena Colombia, which includes an avocado oil extraction plant. The company also expanded into Angola, starting industrial operations in the region.
