The Riksbank's Business Survey: "Everything depends on the vaccine" Swedish large companies feel that they have so far managed the second pandemic wave relatively well, according to the Riksbank’s Business Survey, which is based on interviews in early December with 50 of Sweden's largest companies.

Above all, it’s the manufacturing industry, the construction sector and service industries close to companies that have been relatively unaffected by the second wave of the pandemic. However, the already hard-hit hospitality industry and the clothing trade are once again affected by the new restrictions, with fewer visitors and further reduced sales.


A clothing company describes the economic situation as "super weak”. The uncertainty surrounding the course of the pandemic generally makes companies more cautious. It is seen as crucial that the vaccinations start quickly and successfully to restore customers' faith in the future and demand to pick up again.
