MARMO+MAC is the largest Natural Stone fair in the world and the main international hub for all the players in the sector, where business and professional updating come together to become the elected space for innovation and training.
In a time when the reopening of face-to-face events is taking place, this is a fair marked by the decrease in the total number of exhibitors, which historically are over 1600 and more than 150 countries, this year presenting around 750 companies and 39 countries. However, Portugal, naturally, as it is one of the main players in the international natural stone trade, had a strong presence, through the National Business Associations and with the partnership and support of AICEP – Trade & Investment Agency.
Portuguese exports of Natural Stone are worth around 430 million euros, for a total of 2.1 million tones, which represents a market share of around 2.6%. With 2200 companies producing ornamental stones, of which 920 are exporters, Portugal occupies the 3rd position in the ranking of European exporters and the 7th place worldwide.
